  • Today, October 15 all money, reservations and unsold tickets must be returned to Roberta Gibson for the Ham Loaf Dinner.  Our Ham Loaf Dinner will be held this Saturday, October 21 from 5-7 pm.  Everyone’s help and efforts are needed to make this a success.  All donations (Accept pies and cakes) need to be here by this Thursday, October 19.  The proceeds of the dinner will benefit the General Fund.

  • Fall Book Study:  Monday, October 16 and Wednesday, October 18, 10 am at MOCO House.  We will meet every other week.  The book we are studying is "A Praying Life: Connecting with God in a Distracting World" by Paul Miller.  All are welcome to join us. 

  • The deadline to submit information for the November 2017 newsletter is next Sunday, October 22. The November 2017 newsletter will be passed out on Sunday, October 29.

  • Bessemer Presbyterian CLICK is hosting a Halloween Extravaganza for the whole community on Sunday, October 29 from 4-6 pm.  Trunk or Treat in the parking lot, along with Food, Games, and Prizes.  There will also be a chance to sign up for our new and improved “CLICK” youth group coming in November.  All are invited! 

  • 4G Bible Study will meet Monday, October 30, 6:30 pm at MOCO House.

  • Today, we welcome as our new accompanist, Mr. Nathan Parrott!  Nathan is no stranger to our congregation, as his first paid accompanist job was as at Bessemer Presbyterian Church several years ago.  He has also filled in for us on occasion over the years since.  Nathan grew up in the Mohawk community and is a graduate of both Grove City and Geneva Colleges.  In addition to work as a substitute teacher, Nathan has also worked in food service, currently as a Crew Member/Crew Trainer at Chic-fil-A.  He also enjoys dance and has worked as a dance teacher and choreographer as well.  We are delighted to welcome him back to our congregation to share his talents with us and assist us in our worship of God.  Welcome Nathan, and God bless!

  • The Loose Offering today, October 1 will go to the Deacons’ to aid in their ministry.  

  • The Evangelism and Missionary Committee will be taking a special offering for Celebrate Sudan today, October 1 and next Sunday, October 8.

  • Celebrate Sudan will be hosting an event at MoCo House today, October 1 at 6pm.  All are welcome to attend!  A speaker from South Sudan will also be joining.  Food and Drinks will be provided/available.  Any loose offering collected that night will go to our sister church in South Sudan, The South Sudan Presbyterian Evangelical Church, to help provide hunger relief.

Evangelism & Missionary Committee Apple Dumpling Fundraiser

Have you satisfied that apple dumpling

craving in these chilly months?

 No?!  Well good!  Then you’ve come to the

right bulletin!

The Evangelism and Missionary Committee is planning to set up a fundraiser selling homemade apple dumplings.  You can buy them frozen and eat them whenever you desire.

We would like to start taking orders now and will plan on them being available for pickup starting Saturday, October 14th, from 10am-2pm, and again on Sunday, October 15th from 12pm-2pm after service.

We would appreciate any ingredients that can be donated.   Please see a member of the committee for amounts.  We will need:

  1. Flour

  2. White Sugar

  3. Crisco (the brand) Sticks

  4. Butter

  5. Freezer Gallon Ziploc Bags

  6. Cornstarch

We plan on selling the dumplings for:

  • 6 dumplings for $12

  • 2 dumplings for $4

The profit we make will go to our end-of-year donations to our international missionaries and our local organizations.

Nearly 70% of the money brought in by the sale supports local, national and international mission projects. The Church Basement Sale is sponsored the Enon Presbyterian Church Women's Association.

Evangelism & Missionary Committee Apple Dumplings Fundraiser

Have you satisfied that apple dumpling craving in these chilly months?

 No?!  Well good!  Then you’ve come to the right bulletin!

 

The Evangelism and Missionary Committee is planning to set up a fundraiser selling homemade apple dumplings.  You can buy them frozen and eat them whenever you desire.

 

We would like to start taking orders now and will plan on them being available for pickup starting Saturday, October 14th, from 10am-2pm, and again on Sunday, October 15th from 12pm-2pm after service.

 

We would appreciate any ingredients that can be donated.  We will need:

  1. Flour

  2. White Sugar

  3. Crisco (the brand)

  4. Butter

  5. Freezer Gallon Ziploc Bags

We plan on selling the dumplings for:

  • 6 dumplings for $12

  • 2 dumplings for $4

Local Happenings

  • The 46th Annual Church Basement Sale will be held Thursday through Saturday September 14-16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily at Enon Presbyterian Church in Enon Valley, PA. Please come and check out our Books & Media Room;  our Lunch Counter featuring a different homemade soup daily; our Bake Sale; and of course all of our wonderful treasures. Nearly 70% of the money brought in by the sale supports local, national and international mission projects. The Church Basement Sale is sponsored the Enon Presbyterian Church Women's Association.

  • Golf Outing to benefit MoCo House will be held on Saturday, Oct 7 at Tanglewood Golf Course in Pulaski, PA. More details to follow.

  • Join F.E.   • We welcome to our pulpit this morning, Rev. Elmarie Parker.  Rev. Parker is a PC(USA) mission co-worker who, alongside her husband Scott, has served in Lebanon since 2013.  She continues to serve as regional liaison for mission work in Syria, Lebanon and Iraq while Scott serves as Associate for Ecumenical Partnerships.  Elmamarie facilitates PC (USA) support for partner programs, relationships and activities, and implements the PC (USA)'s international partnership strategy.  She facilitates and seeks to strengthen healthy, effective and appropriate relationships with partner denominations and organizations in the region, and supports PC (USA) co-workers serving in this region in communications, information sharing, mentoring/guiding, encouraging, and reflection.  Welcome, Elmamarie!

  • There will be a Coffee Hour after worship today in the overflow room next to the sanctuary.

  • 4G Young Adult Retreat is this weekend Friday-Sunday, July 28-30!

  • The Officers of the Mohawk Area Alumni Association have met to discuss the upcoming 9th Reunion to be held on Saturday, August 5 at 6 pm in the Mohawk High School Cafeteria.  The Class of 1966 will be in charge of the Registration and the Class of 1968 will be in charge of the Refreshments.  The Class of 1967 will be the Honorees.
