Today, October 9 is the deadline to contribute to the Presbyterian Women’s Doing without Bank Offering. 1/3 goes to City Rescue Mission, 1/3 Mercer Food Bank, and 1/3 to Presbyterian Hunger Fund.
- Today, October 9 is Project HOPE Sunday! Project HOPE is our local community foodbank. The following items are needed: Canned Soup and Crackers or any other nonperishable items are welcomed. Monetary donations are also accepted; please make checks payable to Project HOPE Food Bank, and give to our HOPE Representative: Ruth Ann Herman.
- Mission/Evangelism Committee will meet this Saturday, October 15, 11:00 am at MOCO House.
Beginning next Sunday, October 16 the ham loaf tickets will be distributed. The cost is Adults $10.00, Children (6-12) $ 5.00 and Children 5 and under are FREE. The Ham Loaf Dinner is Saturday, November 12 from 5 pm-7 pm. Takeouts will be available. For tickets call the church office 724-667-7255. The proceeds will go to the Church's General Fund.
Our church will be sponsoring a booth at the Bessemer Firemen's fair on Saturday, October 22. We are asking for monetary donations to help defray the cost. We will be selling Hot Dogs, Walking Tacos, Pop, & Water. Donations can be given to Karen Hutch or Roberta Gibson. The proceeds will go to the Church’s General Fund. Thank you in advance for helping to make this a profitable fund raiser for our church.
- The deadline to submit information for the November 2016 newsletter is Sunday, October 23. The November 2016 newsletter will be passed out on Sunday, October 30.
4G Bible Study will meet Monday, October 24, 6:30 pm at MOCO House.
The Mission/Evangelism Committee is collecting items for Operation Christmas Child. The following items are needed for the month of October: school supplies, pencils, pens, rulers, erasers, small note pads, crayons, and small coloring books. Please put your donations in the red bin under the MISSION Bulletin Board in the entry way. Thank you.
Pastor Nathan is on vacation from Saturday, October 8-Friday, October 14. He will be on study leave from Saturday, October 15-Friday, October 21. He will resume his normal duties on Saturday, October 22. In case of an emergency while Pastor Nathan is away from the office, please contact Beth Ann Nord 724-657-4241 (Cell).
North Beaver Fire Department is sponsoring a Braised Steak Dinner on Sunday, October 16 from 11:30am-2pm at Mount Jackson Fire Hall. The cost is Adults $12.00 and Children 5-12 $6.00. Take Outs are available!
Mt. Jackson Church Fall Bible study on Sunday’s-10/16, 10/30, 11/6, and 11/20 from 6 pm.-7:30 pm. They will do a series on: The Reason for God. How could a loving God send people to Hell? Why does he allow suffering? Can one religion be right and others wrong? We will affirm that our Christian faith is a sound rational belief as we tackle these questions and others.
Bessemer Mohawk Rotary Club is sponsoring a Spaghetti Dinner on Sunday, October 23 from 11:30 am-2 pm at Mohawk H.S. Cafeteria. The cost is Adults $9.00 and Children (under 12) $4.50. Tickets can be purchased from Karen Hutch or Sally Cunningham.
The Tom Walker Family: A Southern Gospel Group from New Castle, PA will present a concert Sunday, November 6, 2016, 7:00 PM at our church. A Free Will Offering will be received. Refreshments will follow.
