Project HOPE Christmas Project: There are 56 families in the Mohawk area who will be receiving joy this season from HOPE. Ruth Ann Herman is willing to do the shopping and wrapping for her families, but she needs money for these gifts. Please give your monetary donation to Ruth Ann Herman by today, December 4. The gifts will be given to families on Saturday, December 10.
Project HOPE is also asking for donations of all sizes of hats, gloves, and mittens. A tree has been placed in the Narthex for these items. Today, December 4 is the final day to contribute. Items donated and items purchased with your monetary donations will be given to the families in need.
Deacons will meet on Monday, December 5 at 6 pm.
Monday, December 5: Color the Banner (6-8 at the church).

Mini Mission Project Opportunity: FeedMySheep is in need of volunteers to help set presents and other Christmas items on tables (no folding this time!). They would like a group of 6-8 people from Bessemer to help on Thursday, December 8th, 2016 from 10am-12pm. Betsy Barr has agreed to car pool from the church and back. Please let Betsy know if you are interested in helping! FeedMySheep is in desperate need for this help to ensure they can start passing out the items before Christmas!

St. Nick is coming to town on Saturday, December 10 from 9 am-11 am at MOCO. Join us as we discover the Life and Legend of the Real Person behind Santa Claus. Learn the stories and Legends from the Life of St. Nicholas, Fun and Learning for the Whole Family. Crafts and Games. Continental Breakfast will be served. This event is sponsored by C.L.I.C.K.
The deadline to submit information for the January 2017 newsletter is next Sunday, December 11. The January 2017 newsletter will be passed out on Sunday, December 25.
Cookie Sunday is coming: Next Sunday, December 11, please bring a tray or 2 of cookies during the Sunday School hours and drop them off downstairs. Then after church you can box up the cookies and either take them home to a loved one or send them to be delivered to our shut-ins. We will also have time to color the banner after worship.
Project Hope Sunday is next Sunday, December 11! The following items are needed for Project HOPE: Canned Soup and Crackers or any other nonperishable items are welcomed. Monetary donations are also accepted; please make checks payable to Project HOPE Food Bank, and give to our HOPE Representative: Ruth Ann Herman.
The Adult Discipleship Christmas Celebration is Tuesday, December 13 at 5:00 pm. Location TBA.
Presbyterian Women will meet on Wednesday, December 14. Executive Board will meet at 6:30 pm. Our program will follow at 7 pm. Pam Thiry from Feed My Sheep will be the guest speaker for the program. We will be collecting Hygiene Products (Shampoo, Soap, Deodorant, etc. and Cleaning Products for Feed My Sheep.
Babysitting available: Some of our church members have volunteered to watch your kids while you do any last-minute shopping, wrap gifts, or would just like a night out. They will be at the church (in the fellowship hall) from 5pm-8pm on Friday, December 16th. They will be providing a light dinner, games, and movies to keep the kids busy. Please let Betsy or Miriam know if you will be dropping your kids off or if you would like to volunteer for the night (note you will need your clearances on file at the church to volunteer.
Christmas Caroling at MoCo: Bethel Church is hosting the caroling this year at MoCo, but ALL are welcome to join! Stop by on Monday, December 19th, from 6:30pm-9pm to join in the caroling and grab a warm drink!
The last day for gifts to be recorded for the year 2016 statement is due by the close of worship on Christmas Day, December 25. If you are mailing your gift to the church, please have it here by Thursday, December 22. The address is:

- Saturday, Dec. 10, at Mohawk High School, something special will be happening. It is the 7th annual Dance Your Heart Out dance variety show. It will feature talented dancers of all ages performing to some of your favorite tunes. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students, and children under 5 free. All tickets are sold at the door. First Presbyterian Church presents a Musical Celebration of Christmas entitled: “O Come, All Ye Faithful” on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at 7:00 pm. Refreshments will follow. All donations will be given to the City Rescue Mission.
The Church Offices will be closed Friday, December 23, 2016-Monday, December 26, 2016 and Friday, December 30, 2016-Monday, January 2, 2017. The church offices will be open Tuesday, December 20, 2016 and Thursday, December 22, 2016 and Tuesday, December 27, 2016 and Thursday, December 29, 2016 from 9 am-12 noon! Regular Office Hours will resume on Tuesday, January 3, 2017.
Christmas Eve Candlelight and Communion Service at 10:45 PM. Join us for our traditional Christmas Eve service, featuring Christmas carols, Scriptures, the Lord’s Supper, and singing “Silent Night” by candlelight, before departing into the night with the ringing the bell to signify that Christmas has arrived.
Christmas Day Service at 10:45 AM. No Sunday School or Nursery! Amid the hustle and bustle of Christmas Day, join us for a service of Lessons and Carols with communion on Christmas morning.
