Today, December 11 is the deadline to submit information for the January 2017 newsletter. The January 2017 newsletter will be passed out on Christmas Sunday, December 25.
Today, December 11 is Project HOPE Sunday! The following items are needed for Project HOPE: Canned Soup and Crackers or any other nonperishable items are welcomed. Monetary donations are also accepted; please make checks payable to Project HOPE Food Bank, and give to our HOPE Representative: Ruth Ann Herman.
Cookie Sunday is today, December 11, after church. Boxes containing cookies will be filled so that we can share them with others, bringing hope and joy to others this Advent/Christmas season.
The Adult Discipleship Christmas Celebration is this Tuesday, December 13 at 5:00 pm. Location TBA.
Presbyterian Women will meet this Wednesday, December 14. Executive Board will meet at 6:30 pm. Our program will follow at 7 pm. Pam Thiry from Feed My Sheep will be the guest speaker for the program. We will be collecting Hygiene Products (shampoo/conditioner, bar soap/body wash, deodorant, and toothbrushes) for Feed My Sheep. All these items needed can be purchased at the Dollar Tree.
Babysitting available: Some of our church members have volunteered to watch your kids while you do any last-minute shopping, wrap gifts, or would just like a night out. They will be at the church (in the fellowship hall) from 5 pm-8 pm this Friday, December 16th. They will be providing a light dinner, games, and movies to keep the kids busy. Please let Betsy or Miriam know if you will be dropping your kids off or if you would like to volunteer for the night (note you will need your clearances on file at the church to volunteer.
Sunday School Christmas Program practice is next Saturday, December 17, 3:00 pm at the church.
Next Sunday, December 18 is our Christmas Program Our Sunday LIGHT classes will lead us in worship as we prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ through music, drama and spoken word.
This year’s Christmas offering goes to support hunger relief in South Sudan. We are asking each person to consider giving 5 % of what they spend on Christmas toward the offering. Please put your donation in the Mission Envelope found in the pew rack. It will be received through Sunday, December 25.
Our Christmas Eve Candlelight and Communion service will be held December 24 at 10:45 pm.
Worship will be held on Christmas Day at 10:45 am. It will feature a service of lessons and carols with communion. There will be no Sunday LIGHT and no Nursery.
The office will be closed on Friday, December 23 and Friday December 30. It will be open for regular hours otherwise during the Christmas/New Year’s Holiday week.
The last day for gifts to be recorded for the year 2016 statement is due by the close of worship on Christmas Day, December 25. Christmas Caroling at MoCo: Bethel Church is hosting the caroling this year at MoCo, but ALL are welcome to join! Stop by on Monday, December 19th, from 6:30 pm-9 pm to join in the caroling and grab a warm drink!
- First Presbyterian Church presents a Musical Celebration of Christmas entitled: “O Come, All Ye Faithful” next Sunday, December 18, 2016 at 7:00 pm. Refreshments will follow. All donations will be given to the City Rescue Mission.
