Announcements

  • There has been a fire in the Mohawk area back on Sunday, September 10.  The Deacons will be taking a Fire Fund Offering for Jenna Abraham Rush & Family of Matthews Road in Mahoning Township, PA beginning today, October 29 and next Sunday, November 5.  Jenna lived there with her 3 children:  An 8 year old son, Imanii, A 4 year old daughter, Ameria and also A 10 month old daughter, Raiyen.   

  • Bessemer Presbyterian CLICK is hosting a Halloween Extravaganza for the whole community this afternoon, October 29 from 4-6 pm.  Trunk or Treat in the parking lot, along with Food, Games, and Prizes.  There will also be a chance to sign up for our new and improved “CLICK” youth group coming in November.  All are invited! 

  • Fall Book Study:  Monday, October 30 and Wednesday, November 1, 10 am at MOCO House.  All are welcome to join us. 

  • 4G Bible Study will meet Monday, October 30, 6:30 pm at MOCO House.

  • Deacons will meet on Wednesday, November 1 at 6 pm.

  • Session will meet on Wednesday, November 1 at 7 pm.

  • Mohawk Area Women will hold our fall meeting is Friday, November 3, at MOCO House. Brunch will begin at 10:00 am followed by program at 10:30 am.  Sue McCurley will provide the program.  Please come and bring a friend.

  • Holy Communion will be observed next Sunday, November 5.

  • The Loose Offering will go to the Deacons’ to aid in their ministry next Sunday, November 5.

  • CLICK will meet next Sunday, November 5 from 4 pm-6 pm.

  • The following items are needed for Project HOPE: Peanut Butter and Jelly, and/or any other non-perishable items are welcomed.  Monetary donations are also accepted; please make checks payable to Project HOPE Food Bank, and give to our HOPE Representative:  Ruth Ann Herman.

  • Nathan Parrott, our new accompanist, is looking for singers, instrumentalists, and others who could help enhance the musical elements of our service.  We are looking for soloists or others who might like to sing in a group, especially as we near Advent and Christmas.  If you are interested, please let Nathan Parrott or Pastor Nathan know.  And if there are others in the community who are interested, please invite them to participate as well!

  • Per Capita is a “per capita” contribution that supports the ongoing ministries of the Presbyterian Church, the Synod of the Trinity, and the Presbytery of Shenango.   Whether you are aware of it or not, our presbytery is vastly supportive of our congregation and our mission.  Because we wish to continue our contributions and enable the mission of the greater church, we ask each member to consider donating their part.  The breakdown is as follows:

                    Synod of the Trinity               $   2.30

                    General Assembly                 $   7.50

  • Due to the Christmas Holiday we are combining the December 2017/January 2018 Newsletter.  The deadline to submit information for the December 2017/January 2018 newsletter is Sunday, November 19.  The December 2017/January 2018 newsletter will be passed out on Sunday, November 26.
  • The church offices will be closed for the Thanksgiving Holiday on Thanksgiving Day, November 23 and also on Friday, November 24.

Local Happenings

  • A special Veterans Day program will be held at Bethel Evangelical Presbyterian Church on Sunday, November 12 at 5 pm.  Patriotic songs, Poetry, Prayers, Music from our choir, Pam Gretsinger, Echo Valley, Instrumentalists, and More!  Following the program, everyone is invited to a Veterans Day Dinner to be held in the Fellowship Hall.

  • Mohawk Area Church Association’s Thanksgiving Service will be held at Christ the King Parish (St. Anthony’s Church) in Bessemer on Sunday, November 19 at 7 pm.
