Text: Matthew 6:5-14
Today, November 12 is Project HOPE Sunday! The following items are needed: Peanut Butter and Jelly, and/or any other non-perishable items are welcomed. Monetary donations are also accepted; please make checks payable to Project HOPE Food Bank, and give to our Representative: Ruth Ann Herman.
Bible Study: Monday, November 13, and Wednesday, November 15, 10 am at MOCO House.
PW Thank Offering Service is next Sunday, November 19. Vice Moderator of PW, Susan Black, will be sharing on part of the service.
CLICK will meet next Sunday, November 19 from 4 pm-5:30 pm.
Nathan Parrott, our new accompanist, is looking for singers, instrumentalists, and others who could help enhance the musical elements of our service. We are looking for soloists or others who might like to sing in a group, especially as we near Advent and Christmas. If you are interested, please let Nathan Parrott or Pastor Nathan know. And if there are others in the community who are interested, please invite them to participate as well!
Due to the Christmas Holiday we are combining the December 2017/January 2018 Newsletter. The deadline to submit information for the December 2017/January 2018 newsletter is next Sunday, November 19. The December 2017/January 2018 newsletter will be passed out on Sunday, November 26.
Any information needed to be included in Christ the King Sunday, November 29 bulletin, please turn it into the office no later than 9:30 am on Tuesday, November 21.
The Church Offices will be closed for the Thanksgiving Holiday on Thanksgiving Day, November 23 and also on Friday, November 24.
Young Adult Bible Study will meet on Monday, November 27, 6:30 pm at MOCO House.
Holy Communion will be celebrated the First Sunday of Advent, December 3.
A Congregational Meeting will be held Sunday, December 3, immediately following worship. The purpose of this meeting is to elect officers for 2018. The slate of officers for a (3 year term) is: Elders: Velvet Henry and Jim Schiffauer. Deacons: Dorothy Hawkins and Nancy Roberts. Nominating Committee for 2018: Roberta Gibson, Tina Leslie, Brad McKim, and Mickie Snyder. Auditor: Phyllis Penwell. Clerk of Session: Howard Leslie.
A special Veterans Day program will be held at Bethel Evangelical Presbyterian Church this evening, November 12 at 5 pm. Patriotic songs, Poetry, Prayers, Music from our choir, Pam Gretsinger, Echo Valley, Instrumentalists, and More! Following the program, everyone is invited to a Veterans Day Dinner to be held in the Fellowship Hall.
Mohawk Area Church Association’s Thanksgiving Service will be held next Sunday, November 19, 7 pm at Christ the King Parish (St. Anthony’s) in Bessemer.
December 8–Babysitting scheduled at the church to assist young families with time for Christmas shopping, wrapping presents, and preparing for the holidays.
You are invited to share Christmas Joy-feedMysheep Ministries is inviting volunteers to come help with their Christmas Give-Away. On December 13 volunteers are needed at 10 a.m. to sort and arrange gifts for the Christmas Give-Away. On Saturday, December 16 from noon until 4 p.m. volunteers are needed to give away presents and toys to the feedMysheep clients and families. Rides will be provided for anyone interested in helping. Please consider spreading joy to those who often don’t see love at Christmas. Please see any member of the Mission Committee if you are interested.
December 17–Cookie Sunday. Please bring a tray or 2 of cookies during the Sunday School hours and drop them off downstairs. Then after church you can box up the cookies and either take them home to a loved one or send them to be delivered to our shut-ins.
