  • Today, December 10 is Project HOPE Sunday!  The following items are needed: Cereals, Pancake Mix, Syrup, and/or any other non-perishable items are welcomed.  Monetary donations are also accepted; or checks made out to Project HOPE Food Bank, and give to Ruth Ann Herman.

  • Bible Study is on Monday, December 11, and Wednesday, December 13, 10 am at MOCO House.

  • Volunteers Needed:  You are invited to share Christmas Joy-feedMysheep Ministries is inviting volunteers to come help with their Christmas Give-Away.  On Wednesday, December 13 volunteers are needed at 10 am to sort and arrange gifts for the Christmas Give-Away.  On Saturday, December 16 from noon until 4 pm volunteers are needed to give away presents and toys to the feedMysheep clients and families.  Rides will be provided for anyone interested in helping.  Please consider spreading joy to those who often don’t see love at Christmas.  Please see any member of the Mission Committee if you are interested.

  • Midweek Advent Coloring Night on Wednesday, December 13, and 20 from 5:30 pm-7:00 pm at the church.  Everyone of any age is welcome.  There will be a small devotional time reflecting on each of the banners.

  • 4 G Christmas Party on Saturday, December 16, 7 pm at the home of Howard & Tina Leslie.

  • Beginning next Sunday, December 17 through the end of the year the Evangelism and Mission Committee will collect the Christmas offering for Feedmysheep in New Castle, PA. This local organization works within Lawrence County as well as the New Castle community to provide food, clothing, and household items to those in need. They also have several services during the week for their community followers to grow spiritually and emotionally.  FeedMysheep is housed in an old church and their utility bills for the winter tend to be very high and difficult to pay. We are supporting a collection to help relieve some this financial stress for this coming winter. Please consider supporting this organization, which we have partnered with for the last 5 years.

  • Cookie Sunday is coming:  Next Sunday, December 17, please bring a tray or 2 of cookies during the Sunday school hours and drop them off downstairs.  Then after church you can box up the cookies and either take them home to a loved one or send them to be delivered to our shut-ins.  We will also have time to color the banner after worship.

  • Join us on Sunday, December 17 at 4 pm for “A Night in Bethlehem” an event for the whole family to experience the bustling Bethlehem marketplace during the birth of Jesus.  Hosted by Bessemer Presbyterian CliCK.

The Last Day of Giving for 2017

  • The last day for gifts to be recorded for the year 2017 statement is due by the close of our 10:45 am worship on Sunday, December 31.  If you are mailing your gift to the church, please have it here by Friday, December 29.

Important Information for 2018

  • Attention Treasurers:  Please turn your Financial Reports and Books into the church office by Sunday, January 7, 2018.

  • Church Treasurer Books Audited:  The church treasurer’s books will be audited the week of January 7-14, 2018.

  • The Annual Reports:  The Annual Reports will be passed out on Sunday, January 21, 2018.

  • Annual Congregational Meeting:  The Annual Congregational meeting is Sunday, January 28, 2018.  The congregation at that time will vote to receive the 2017 financial reports and approve the 2018 Pastoral Terms of Call.

Local Happenings

  • Christmas Caroling at MoCo:  Bethel Church is hosting this event.  ALL are welcome to join us!  Stop by tomorrow evening, December 11, 7 pm-8 pm to join in the caroling and grab a warm drink!

  • Christmas floral centerpiece class with Butterfly Wish Bouquets at MOCO House this Tuesday, December 12 from 6:30 pm-7:30 pm.  Design Your Own Holiday Centerpiece!  We'll start by creating a basic candle centerpiece of assorted holiday evergreens. Then you'll make it your own by adding items from our selection of ribbons, pinecones, berries, cinnamon sticks, glitter wire, mini bulbs, pearls, lace, twigs, etc. Finally we'll add fresh roses, alstromeria, baby's breath and wax flower for an extra touch of color! Create something beautiful that will last throughout the holidays! Space is limited!! Sign up today!

  • Christmas Marimba with Mohawk students at MOCO House this Wednesday, December 13, 6 pm-7 pm.

  • MOCO House 3rd Anniversary Celebration this Saturday, December 16,   7 pm-9 pm.  Come celebrate our 3rd Anniversary with a night of music, food, and socializing.  $10 per person cover charge covers a drink, snack appetizers, and dessert.  There will be a large gift basket available for raffle.

  • Poland Presbyterian Church will present A Musical Celebration of Christmas entitled: “O Come, All Ye Faithful on Sunday, December 17, 6:30 pm at Poland Presbyterian Church in Poland, OH.  Refreshments will follow.  All donations to benefit the Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley.

Deconstruct It!  Saturday, December 16, 2 pm.  A program for curious kids, maybe you have questions…Maybe you just like to take things apart…Either way you’re bound to enjoy this program.  We’ll provide a variety of items like computers, phones, and clocks, along with all the tools you need to disassemble and explore them.  Can you figure out how they work?  Can you use the parts to build something new?  Which tool will cut wire best?  What’s the difference between a Phillips head and a flat head?  Join us!
