The Fourth Sunday in Lent-March 26, 2017, 10:45 AM

This Week in Worship

Texts:  I Samuel 16:1-13; Psalm 23;  Ephesians 5:8-14; Luke 19:37-44

Message:  "Giving Up Enemies" Rev. Leslie

  • 4G Bible Study will meet Thursday, March 30, 6:30 pm at MOCO House.

  • The Loose Offering will go to the Deacons’ to aid in their ministry next Sunday, April 2.

  • The Sacrament of Holy Communion will be celebrated next Sunday, April 2.  Please prepare your hearts and minds accordingly.

  • One Great Hour of Sharing (OGHS) offering will be received on April 2, 9, and 16, 2017.  The Evangelism and Mission Committee has decided to donate our offerings to PDA - Presbyterian Disaster Assistance.  This is part of PCUSA and has been very active both domestically and internationally when disasters strike.  In the past, members of our church family have seen PDA in action when they volunteered and traveled to the gulf coast after hurricane Katrina hit.  They saw families fed and homes clean out of mud and rebuilding begun, all thanks to donations from churches like ours.  This year, PDA is directing funds to national disasters:  Southern tornadoes, Tennessee wildfires, Gulf Coast flooding (2016), West Virginia's floods, wildfires (summer 2016) and the Flint water crisis.  Thank you for supporting God's work after disasters.

  • The Deacons will meet on Wednesday, April 5 at 6:00 pm.

  • The Session will meet on Wednesday, April 5 at 7:00 pm.

  • Community Bible Study on Wednesday nights through Wednesday, April 12 at MoCo House.  We will color the Stations of the Cross banners at 6 pm and have Bible Study reflecting on the Scriptures behind them at 7 pm.

  • The following items are needed for Project HOPE: Cake Mixes, Frosting, Pudding, and Jell-O or any other nonperishable items are welcomed.  Monetary donations are also accepted; please make checks payable to Project HOPE Food Bank, and give to our HOPE Representative:  Ruth Ann Herman.

Raise the Roof Campaign

We have launched our Raise the Roof Campaign to replace the roof on the church.  Pledge cards are available on the narthex table.  Building Fund/Raise the Roof envelopes are available in the pews.

Local Happenings

Our Mohawk Meals on Wheels route needs two volunteers to deliver meals every-other Wednesday in our area. Anyone interested in helping with this service to the community may call the Westfield Church office at 724-667-7045 to find out more information.

New Song, a vocal ministry group from Geneva College, will be singing at Mt. Jackson Church today, March 26, at 2 pm.  Come hear this amazing group of young people! There will be a meal before the concert at 12:45.  All are welcome!  Contact Nathan Parrott at (724) 730-7963 for questions or additional info.
