Meditation: "Whom Will You Serve?" Rev. Leslie
About this evening service: Today is called "Maundy Thursday." Maundy comes from the Latin word mandatum, which means "command." Tonight we keep the feast that Jesus shared with his disciples on the night of his arrest, and we remember his new commandment to love one another even as he has loved us. We celebrate with a "Fellowship Meal" or "Love Feast" which concludes with Holy Communion. Tonight is the beginning of the "Three Days of Easter," which are the celebration of the death and resurrection of Jesus.
The sanctuary will also be open for private prayer tomorrow morning at 9 am and will remain so until 6 pm.
The service continues again on Good Friday at 7 pm beginning at First Covenant Church (which is located near the square of Bessemer) and ending at our church,
Join us again for the conclusion of the "Three Days" Saturday Night at 8 pm for the Easter Vigil.
