Announcements

  • Today, October 7 is World Communion Sunday.  Holy Communion will be celebrated!

  • The Loose Offering today, October 7 will go to the Deacons’ to aid in their ministry.

  • Today, October 7 we are hosting visitors, Felicia is from New Castle and Jacob is from Barahona, Dominican Republic.  They are a happily married couple who felt God's calling in Barahona; this is a very rural part of the DR that does not get any kind of government assistance (as the resorts are on the other side of the island).  They are coming to BPC to help us kick off a new Christmas Project - we want the congregation to sponsor one (or more) of the children from their hometown (and a few surrounding) and buy them one special Christmas gift.  We will have a coffee hour after worship. 

  • Community Bible Study by Pastor Nathan and Rev. John Lersch will gather 9:30 am at MoCo House on Monday, October 8.  Please read Leviticus 8-10 for our discussion.

  • Next Sunday, October 14 is Project HOPE Sunday!  The following items are needed: Canned Tuna, Spam, etc. or any other non-perishable items are welcomed.  Monetary donations are also accepted; please make checks payable to Project HOPE Food Bank, and give to our HOPE Representative:  Ruth Ann Herman.

  • Presbyterian Women Doing without Bank envelopes will be collected next Sunday, October 14. 

  • Presbyterian Women's Fall Gathering is Saturday, October 20, 8:30 am at Northminster in New Castle. Registration forms are available on the Narthex table, they need to be turned in by Wednesday, October 17 with $8 for lunch.  Presbyterian Women is collecting items for "Feed My Sheep" to be taken to our Fall Gathering. (Dish Soap, Bar Soap, Body Wash, Shampoo & Conditioner) there will be a box in the Narthex.

Bessemer Presbyterian Preschool Vendor Show

  • Bessemer Presbyterian Preschool Vendor Show is Saturday, October 20, 10 am-2 pm.  Proceeds will benefit the Preschool.  Space is limited to one representative per company/product.  Spaces are reserved on a first come first serve basis.  Please contact Mary Kay Leslie with any questions, 724-730-2186 or mkleslie86@gmail.com.  Please make checks payable to BPPreschool.  Come join us for a great day with all the vendors you can imagine. 

Ham Loaf Dinner

  • Our Ham Loaf Dinner is Saturday, October 27 serving 5:00 pm-7:00 pm.  The cost is Adults $ 10.00, Children 6-12 $ 5.00 and 5 and under are FREE.  A limited number of tickets will be available at the door.  For tickets call the church office 724-667-7255.  The proceeds from the Ham Loaf Dinner will go toward the General Fund.  All money, reservations and unsold tickets for the Ham Loaf Dinner must be returned to Roberta Gibson no later than Sunday, October 21.  

  • We are asking for donations to defray the cost.  Please see the sign-up sheet in the Narthex for donation items and volunteering.  Any monetary donations can be given to Velvet Henry or Roberta Gibson.   

Halloween Extravaganza

  • Halloween Extravaganza/Trunk or Treat on Sunday, October 28 from 4 pm-6 pm.  We’ll have games, prizes, and food.  Come dressed up and bring a bag for goodies.   

Local Happenings

  • Bessemer Rotary Ziti dinner on Sunday, October 21, serving 11:30 am.-2 pm at Mohawk High School cafeteria.  Dine in or carry out.  Tickets are available in advance from any Bessemer Mohawk Rotarian or at the door - $10 adults, $5 children under 12.  Proceeds from the dinner will be used toward scholarships for 2 Mohawk seniors in the spring. In addition, there will be tickets for a lottery tree drawing with proceeds going to Project H.O.P.E.

  • North Beaver Fire Department Braised Steak Dinner on Sunday, October 21, serving from 11:30 am-2 pm at the Mount Jackson Fire Hall.  The cost is $ 12.00 Adults, $ 6.00 Children 6-12 and Children 5 and under 5 are Free.  Dine in or carry out.
