Announcements

  • The following items are needed for Project HOPE for July: Paper Products (Kleenex, Napkins, Paper Towels, and Toilet Paper) and/or any other non-perishable items are welcomed. Monetary donations are also accepted; or checks made out to Project HOPE Food Bank, and give to Ruth Ann Herman.

  • The Congregational Life Committee is sponsoring a booth at the Bessemer Fireman’s Festival on Saturday, July 28.  We are asking the congregation for monetary donations to help defray the cost of our supplies.  Please give your monetary donation to Roberta Gibson, Velvet Henry or Mickie Snyder.
  • There are still a few openings in BPP Church’s 3 year old and 4-5 year old preschool class for the 2018-2019 school year.  BPP serves children ages 3 (by September 1) through age 5 living in the Mohawk area.  The 3/4 year old class meets Tuesday and Thursday mornings, 9 am-12 noon and the 4/5 year old class meets Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 9 am-12 noon. Please speak to Mary Kay Leslie if you have a child between the ages of 3-5 years old or call the preschool @ 724-667-4130 and leave a message.  Our first day of class for the 3 year old class is Tuesday, September 4 and the first day for the 4-5 year old class is Wednesday, September 5.     

  • Pastor Nathan will continue his vacation through tomorrow, Monday, July 16.  In case of an emergency until tomorrow, Monday, July 16, please contact Clerk of Session, Howard Leslie 724-336-3554.  Pastor Nathan will resume his duties this Tuesday, July 17. 

Local Happenings

  • Enon Valley Community Blood Drive at Westfield Presbyterian’s Fellowship Hall, Friday, July 27, 1:30 pm-7 pm.  To register please call Westfield Church 724-667-7045 or Lee Ann Martin 724-667-8613.
  • Bessemer Volunteer Fire Department Community Day events begin Friday, July 27, Saturday, July 28, and end on Sunday, July 29.  Friday:  A Free Community Picnic and Car Show starting at 5 pm followed by the Band:  Order of the Dragon at 6 pm.  Saturday:  All Day activities.  Watch for more details.  Sunday:  Community Worship Service, 10 am at the Bessemer Fire Hall.

  • Mohawk Alumni Association 10th Class Reunion is Saturday, August 4, 6 pm in the High School Cafeteria.  The Class of 1967 will be in charge of registration and the Class of 1969 will be in charge of Refreshments.  The Class of 1968 will be the Honorees.  Any questions, please contact Charlotte McCalla Oliver, President at 724-336-5958.

July 26:  Zin! Zin! Zin! A Violin by Lloyd Moss:  We’ll use recycle CD’s to make etched artwork and a mini hovercraft!  

 

*Autism Warriors Lego Club:  Join us for this special LEGO club for individuals with autism on Tuesday, July 17, 24, and 31 from 3 pm-4 pm.  Over 8,000 LEGO’s to build and create with!  This program is open to any individuals with autism, and to 2 guests.  Please RSVP to Mrs. Gretchen Murphy at gmurphy@mohawk.k12.pa.us if you plan to attend.

Project Hope Back to School Project

Items needed:

Erasers, Glue Sticks, Pencil Boxes, Pens, Pencils, Expo Markers, Spiral Notebooks, Backpacks, Boy’s XL Underwear, Boy’s Large Socks, and Men’s Medium Undershirts.

 Monetary donations are most welcome; please make checks payable to Project HOPE and give to Ruth Ann Herman, our representative.  All items are to be at the church by Sunday, August 5!
