Today, May 19 was our last day of Sunday Light until mid-August. The Discipleship Committee would like to thank the following teachers and helpers for a great year. Preschool: Roberta Gibson, Serrena Schultz, and Mickie Snyder. Kindergarten: Rhodell Magnone, and Beth Ann Nord. Grades 1-5: Betsy Barr, and Miriam Gwin. Grades 6-9: Pastor Nathan Leslie. Young Adult: Tina Leslie.
Today, May 19, we will welcome into membership Justin and Trevor Dudzenski. Both have completed a year of confirmation classes and will become members by profession of faith. Also on Sunday, May 19, we will celebrate the baptism of four children: Charlee and Frankie Schubert, daughters of Travis & Chandra Schubert; as well as Brecken and Easton Bolland, sons of Deric & Chelsea Bolland. A reception will be held after worship in the fellowship hall.
The deadline to submit information for the June 2018 newsletter is today, May 19. The June 2019 newsletter will be passed out on Sunday, May 26.
4G Adult Bible Study will meet Monday, May 23, 6:30 pm at MOCO House.
Graduates will be recognized during our 10:00 am worship on Sunday, June 2. Please notify the church office of members graduating from High School, College, or any Higher Learning Institution by Sunday, May 26. Non-members will be recognized in name, so if you have a family member graduating please inform us so that we can include them in our listing.
Church retreat meeting on Tuesday, May 28 at 6 pm.
There is a sign up sheet on the narthex table, so you can help with the food and supplies for the Community Picnic at Kennedy Park in Bessemer on Sunday, June 23.
Beginning Sunday, May 26 through mid-August. Our Sunday morning schedule will be as follows: Worship at 10:00 am.
The following items are needed for Project HOPE: Canned Fruit and Canned Vegetables or any other non-perishable items are welcomed. Monetary donations are also accepted; please make checks payable to Project HOPE Food Bank, and give to our HOPE Representative: Ruth Ann Herman.
North Beaver Fire Department Ox Roast is today, May 19, 11:30 am-1:30 pm at the fire hall in Mount Jackson. The cost is Adults 14.00, Children 6-12 $ 6.00 and Children under 6 is FREE. Eat in or Take Out.
Mohawk Area Church Association Baccalaureate Service is today, May 19, 7 pm in the High School Auditorium. Refreshments to follow in the cafeteria.
Mohawk Coffee House (MoCo House) will host the annual 5K/2 mile Java Jog as one of its major fund raisers on Memorial Day. Sponsors, as well as participants, will be needed for this fun community event! Bessemer is the place to be at 8:30 am, Monday, May 27. Stop by the coffee house to register.
Mohawk Area School Districts Class of 2019 Graduation is Wednesday, May 29, 7 pm at the Cathedral in New Castle.

Autism Warriors-Tuesday, May 21: Lego Club. The program is open to any individual with autism, and up to two guests.

Summer Reading Kickoff Event: Saturday, June 10. Our program is called “A Universe of Stories.” We will have cotton candy, Goodie Bags.

Vacation Bible School will be held over two days this year: Thursday, June 20 and Friday, June 21 from 4:30 pm-7:30 pm each evening. We will also serve dinner each evening. The closing program will be Friday, June 21 at 7:30 pm followed by an ice cream social. This year, we will saddle up for a trailblazing weekend of fun! Kids will kick up their heels at Yee Haw VBS as they stampede through the wild frontier and celebrate the greatest truth of all--God is good! Children who are potty-trained through age 10 are welcome to join us.
A Free Community Worship Service and Picnic will be held on Sunday, June 23 at Kennedy Park on East Poland Ave. next to the Borough Building. Community Worship with our local churches at 10 am followed by a picnic lunch at 12:00 noon. Please come to enjoy a bite to eat, a time to talk, and some games for kids, young and old! Bring your own chair!
