Announcements

  • The Loose Offering today, September 1 will go to the Deacons’ to aid in their ministry

  • Deacons will meet this Wednesday, September 4 at 6 pm.

  • Session will meet this Wednesday, September 4 at 7 pm.

  • Next Sunday, September 8 is Project H.O.P.E. Sunday!  The following items are needed for Project HOPE:  Paper Products (Kleenex, Toilet Paper, Paper Towels, and Napkins) or any other non-perishable items are welcomed.  Monetary donations are also accepted; please make checks payable to Project HOPE Food Bank, and give to our HOPE Representative:  Ruth Ann Herman.

  • Presbyterian Women will meet Wednesday, Sept 11, 6 pm at MoCo House, for devotions, fellowship and business meeting.

  • Nominating Committee will meet Wednesday, September 11, 6 pm at the church.  The elected members include: Mickie Snyder, Session Chair; Ruth Ann Herman, Dick Martin, Ashley Patton, and Janice Young, Deacon Representative.

  • The Mission/Evangelism Committee will meet on Saturday, September 14, 9 am at MOCO House.

  • Presbyterian Women Doing without Bank envelopes will be passed out on Sunday, September 15 with collection date on Sunday, October 13.

  • DON'T FORGET! We have pledged to support our South Sudan brothers and sisters in Christ in financially supporting their goals of building and sustaining churches.  Any donations given to Missions on Sunday, September 15th will go towards their dream of permanent places to worship the Lord with trained (and paid) pastors to guide them through these times of difficult economical transitions. Coffee hour will also follow our worship service.

  • Pastor Nathan and Rev. John Lersch are going to be co-leading a Fall Bible Study on the book of Hebrews.  We will gather on Monday, September 16, 9:30 a.m. at MoCo House and every Monday through the end of October. 

  • You are cordially invited to attend an APPLE DUMPLING ASSEMBLY PARTY!  This is such a fun event we’re having it for 2 days:  You may come either of these days or both days:  1. Saturday, September 21st from 9 am-?  2.  Wednesday, September 25th from 4 pm-?  We will supply snacks, water, and lunch/dinner!  If you have them, bring a rolling pin and pastry cutter!  You will get a bit messy and be on your feet, but it’s always a fun time! 

  • There is a list of ingredients and the amount needed to make the Apple Dumplings on the narthex table.  We would appreciate any ingredients that can be donated.

  • Presbyterian Women is conducting three different projects:  A Shoe Drive for Mission, Bags to Bed, and Pillowcase Project.  More information about these projects are on the bulletin board in the narthex.  The deadline to have these items to the church is Sunday, September 15.

  • Bessemer Youth Group (BYG) will meet Sunday, September 22, 4 pm-5:30 pm.

  • The deadline to submit information for the October 2019 newsletter is Sunday, September 22. The October 2019 newsletter will be passed out on Sunday, September 29.

  • Presbytery meeting is Tuesday, September 24, 6:30 pm at Faith Presbyterian Church, Hermitage, PA.

  • 4G Bible Study will meet Thursday, September 26, 6:30 pm at MOCO House.

Local Happenings

  • MEN'S BREAKFAST:  Saturday, September 14, 2019 8:30AM at Bethel's Fellowship Hall.  All men, their sons and friends are invited.  Our speaker will be Dr. James Thrasher, Chaplin of Grove City College Football Team.  Please RSVP to Bethel Church 724-667-8031 by Friday, September 6.

  • Golf Outing to benefit MoCo House will be held on Saturday, September 28 at Tanglewood Golf Club in Pulaski, PA at 7:30 AM.  Registration Forms are available at the coffee house and need to be returned by Friday, September 21.   Any questions, please call the coffee house at 724-667-4293, email:  www.mohawkcoffeehouse.com or stop in MOCO for more details.

    FALL IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER…

    HAVE YOU MADE YOUR APPLE DUMPLINGS YET?

     No?!  Well good!  Then you’ve come to the right bulletin!

    The Evangelism and Missionary Committee is planning to run our annual fundraiser selling homemade apple dumplings.  You can buy them frozen and enjoy them whenever you desire.

    We will start taking orders now!

     Please tell your family and friends of our fundraiser and get them to order some – we ALL know how delicious these dumplings are!

    Pickup Dates/Times:   Saturday, October 12, 10am-12pm

                                                Sunday, October 13, 12pm-2pm

     We would also appreciate any ingredients that can be donated.  There is a sheet in the narthex for amounts needed.

    We plan on selling the dumplings for:

    • 2 dumplings for $6

    • 5 dumplings for $12

    • 10 dumplings for $20

     The profit we make will go to our end-of-year donations and also to the South Sudan Church Planting Project.

    We will be taking orders till the end of September.
