The Mission of the Bessemer Presbyterian Church



The Bessemer Presbyterian Church is a community of faith committed to:

•  Proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit;

•  Growing as disciples and discerning the will of God through the study of Scripture, prayer, worship, the sacraments, and fellowship; 

•  Mirroring the character of Christ, showing His love through acts of comfort, healing, hospitality, humility and kindness to one another, our community and our world.






Holy Week 2014 Schedule of Events





Mohawk Area Church Association Holy Week Services:  will be held at Mount Jackson Presbyterian Church from 6:45 a.m.-7:15 a.m. each morning (April 14-18).  


Maundy Thursday   Thursday, April 17, Meal and Dinner (together) in the fellowship hall starting at 6 p.m. Holy Communion will be celebrated.


Good Friday  Friday, April 18, the church will be open for prayer from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.   A service will be held with the First Covenant Church starting at 7:00 p.m. at First Covenant Church and ending at our church.


Easter Vigil Service — Saturday, April 19, 8:00 p.m. in the sanctuary.  Holy Communion will be celebrated.


Easter Sunday — Sunday, April 20 with Sunday LIGHT at 9:30 a.m. followed by Divine Worship at 10:45 a.m.  Holy Communion will be celebrated.

Sunday LIGHT at 9:30 a.m. 

a time of "Learning in God's House Together (LIGHT)" for all ages.


Worship at 10:45 a.m. 

when our church family gathers to praise God, hear God's Word together, pray together, respond to God's Word together, and carry God's Word into the world together.  There is Nursery care for children  kindergarten age and younger following the children's message.
